The New York Giants are one of the most popular teams in the NFL, some of it is because they play for the biggest city in the country, but a lot of it also has to do with the type of organization they’ve run. Since the early days of the NFL, the Giants have always been considered one of the classiest franchises in football. The team has had its ups and downs throughout its history, like any team really, but they have definitely experienced their fair share of success.

The New York Giants have won multiple league championships, both before and after the Super Bowl. However, they have won three Super Bowls and here’s a look at the men who took home the Super Bowl MVP award during those big wins for the franchise.

Super Bowl XXI – Phil Simms

Super Bowl XXI looked to be one of the most competitive games in Super Bowl history, as the Denver Broncos held a 10-9 lead over the Giants at halftime. Quarterback Phil Simms then helped the Giants take over in the second half, as the Giants would go on to win with the final score of 39-20. Simms’ final numbers would be 22 of 25 completions for 268 yards and three touchdowns.

Super Bowl XXV – Ottis Anderson

The Giants would again be behind at halftime in Super Bowl XXV, this time against the Buffalo Bills, by a score of 12-10. A second-half touchdown by Ottis Anderson and a dominant run game that ate up the clock would result in the Giants winning the game by the score 20-19. Ottis Anderson’s stats for the game were 21 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Super Bowl XLII – Eli Manning

The Giants entered Super XLII as losers to the undefeated New England Patriots. At halftime, New York fans found themselves in a familiar place, down at halftime, this time by a score of 7-3. After a scoreless third quarter and some incredible plays in the fourth quarter, including two touchdown passes from Eli Manning, the Giants cruised to a win with a final score of 17-14. Manning’s final numbers were 19-of-34 completions for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
